Which Bookkeeping Service Do You Need?
It depends on where your books stand today. If they are current, monthly bookkeeping keeps them that way. If they are behind, wrong, or not set up yet, that part gets fixed first.

FAQ
Bookkeeping Questions, Answered
Straight answers, including the ones where the answer is no. If yours is not here, ask it directly.
Ask Your Question ›Six. Monthly Bookkeeping is the ongoing service. Catch-Up Bookkeeping is for books that are behind, and Clean-Up Bookkeeping is for books that are wrong. Bookkeeping Setup is for new accounts, Custom Financial Reporting is for deeper numbers, and Business Growth Consulting is for using those numbers in decisions. All six run in one accounting platform only.
Catch-up is for months that were never entered: the work is rebuilding missing periods until the books are current. Clean-up is for months that were entered wrong. The books look up to date, but the numbers are not right. Income is lumped together, direct costs sit in overhead, or card deposits were recorded after fees instead of before. Behind gets caught up; wrong gets cleaned up. Books can be both, and then the missing months are built first.
Foundation Monthly Bookkeeping starts at $300 per month. The rate is flat and set by transaction volume and complexity, never by the hour. Your rate comes out of a short call about the business, and sometimes a look at the books as well.
Yes, and it is one of the most common ways clients arrive. Nothing changes until you have a price and agree to it, so you can talk to us while someone else is still doing the books. Whatever you decide, make sure the accounting subscription is in your own name, because that is what keeps the records yours.
Yes. Catch-Up Bookkeeping rebuilds the missing periods, categorizes the history and reconciles it until the books are current, however far back that goes. Then monthly service takes over so it does not happen again.
Yes. Bookkeeping Setup builds the account from scratch. A chart of accounts that fits how the business earns, bank and processor connections, categorization rules, and a monthly close workflow. The books start correct instead of needing a clean-up later.
No. Equipped is a bookkeeping company, not a CPA or tax firm. What you get is clean, reconciled books your tax preparer can file from.
No. Payroll runs through your payroll provider. Where scope allows, Equipped reconciles those payroll transactions so wages land in the books correctly.
Yes. Coordinating with your tax preparer is part of the monthly service. The person filing your return starts from reconciled books, not a folder of receipts and a year of questions.
The first step is a short call about the business, and the price comes out of that. How fast the work moves depends on what the books need, so we do not promise a start date. Nothing begins before you have a price.
Yes. Equipped works remotely with owner-led service businesses in all 50 states. Communication is by email, text or phone.
